I started doing tax help and book keeping in 2010. I realized very quickly that it was my passion so after 4 years of working at accounting businesses just being a helper I decided to go to university to pursue my passion. I started school in 2014 and graduated in 2017 receiving my designation as a DFA - Tax Specialist ( Distinguished Financial Advisor) For 7 years I worked at a financial institution in Saskatchewan while I completed my degree and grew and expanded the tax business side of it.
In 2021 I moved back to Manitoba and have since then started a very successful restaurant in East Selkirk where I not only do the day to day operations that go into running a restaurant but I also do all the books, payroll, source deductions, get, pst and taxes. During tax season I have a small client base that I complete their personal tax returns including small businesses and farms. I also have a small client base where I do their books and other bookkeeping duties.
I have come to realize now that the small client base I have consisting mostly of family isn't enough. I want to grow my business and pursue my dream of what I went to school for. So I am hoping to expand my little tax/bookkeeping business so I can get back to doing what I love most.
